Revolutionary Thinkers is a programme and competition that empowers young people aged 11–18 to turn curiosity into creativity — and creativity into action. Participants choose an issue they genuinely care about and develop a realistic solution to a real problem, building confidence, purpose, and an innovator’s mindset along the way.

The programme and competition are open to secondary schools, colleges, alternative provision, youth groups, community settings, and home educators. Because the future is theirs to build — we’re giving young people the tools to shape it. Anyone can become a facilitator.

Who can run Revolutionary Thinkers?

Any adult who works with young people aged 11–18 can facilitate the programme — teachers, PRU staff, youth workers, community leaders, alternative provision teams, and home ed parents/co-ops. You don’t need to be a specialist. If you can guide discussion and encourage young people, you can run it.

How much time does it take?

The programme is designed to be flexible and realistic. Most facilitators run it as one session a week, but you can also deliver it as a short-term project, enrichment block, drop-down days, or a club. You choose what works for your timetable and young people.

What do we get when we sign up?

You’ll receive everything you need to deliver the programme smoothly— a full facilitator pack, accessible online training, session materials, student resources, and guidance on how to support young people through each stage (from choosing a problem to pitching a solution). You’ll also get key dates and updates, plus optional training/support.

Is it really free?

Yes — the programme is free to join and free to run. We’re collecting early bird sign-ups to evidence demand and submit our funding application, so we can keep it accessible and prioritise underserved communities.

What if our students struggle with confidence, behaviour, or engagement?

You’re exactly who this is for. Revolutionary Thinkers is designed to be supportive, empowering, and low-pressure — with structured steps, plenty of discussion, and a focus on realistic ideas over “perfect” answers. It works brilliantly with students who feel disengaged, anxious, or unsure of themselves because it gives them purpose and voice

Do students have to submit to the competition?

No — submitting is optional. Many groups will love entering, but the programme is valuable even if you simply run it for the learning and personal growth. If you do want to submit, we make the process clear and straightforward.
